Every year MTN organises several strategic conversations between industry peers to discuss evolving best practice in developing and staging new musicals, or a specific opportunity or challenge.
What these include:
- Producers Round Table
- Audience Development Round Table
- Musical Theatre in Higher Education Round Table
We also organise a Musical Theatre & Environmental Sustainability Round Table discussion each year, in partnership with Mercury Musical Developments.
Sometimes round tables are also organised to bring together a particular group of professionals to consider existing and future infrastructure
– such as when MTN brought together a gathering of musical directors and musical supervisors to consider gender inequalities in career progression. Round table discussions acknowledge that everyone in the conversation is a professional with valuable insights, and aim to create opportunities for all participants to contribute to the discussion, and ideally generate recommendations or action points.
Recording of past round tables can be found in the Members Hub.
