This discussion, jointly presented by Musical Theatre Network and Future Arts Centres, will build on those held by Musical Theatre Network in other areas of the industry (i.e. with commercial producers and larger producing theatres), and is likely to explore areas such as:
– what does support and engagement with new musical theatre look like, in Arts Centres
– evolving best practice in engaging new audiences with new musical theatre
– improving inclusivity and diversity in British musical theatre writing and the role community led buildings can play.
– approaches to workshopping or staging new musicals in Arts Centres, reflective of the communities they serve.
-the role family work/Christmas shows play in the UK new musical theatre landscape.
– an introduction to BEAM, MTN’s industry showcase for new musical theatre – and how Arts Centres could be involved/benefit from it.
– how MTN can best introduce you to relevant musical theatre writing teams and potential partners/companies that are making relevant work to you
– opportunities for further collaboration, industry networking and resource sharing
