Join us for festive drinks and networking prior to watching a performance of new musical ‘Coven’ by Rebecca Brewer and Daisy Chute, followed by a panel discussion and Q&A with the writers and also the production’s Olivier Award-winning director Miranda Cromwell, and Kiln’s producer Lisa Cagnacci. Writers Rebecca and Daisy were Cameron Mackintosh Resident Musical Theatre Writers at MAST in Southampton through much of this year, and will share insights into the development pathway of ‘Coven’, which they successfully pitched for BEAM2020.

‘Coven’ is based on England’s most notorious witch trials, in Pendle, Lancashire, in 1612. ‘A witch hunt is raging and a 9-year-old Jenet accuses her own family of witchcraft. 21 years later, she finds herself imprisoned, surrounded by the most feared women in town. As the accuser becomes the accused, Jenet must confront a 250-year legacy of witchcraft and the dark secrets of her own past. As she listens to the shocking stories of the women around her, Jenet’s faith begins to crumble.’
