Flat Earth: The Musical
‘Flat Earth: The Musical’ is a fast-paced comedy about the South Boddington Flat Earth society, an idiosyncratic group of misfits on the brink of extinction. To save their beloved society they must prove once and for all that the Earth is flat.
This musical weaves break-neck comedy with pop-rock songs. Action on stage is high-functioning, multi-rolling and increasingly surreal, as our ensemble has to face up to their beliefs. What if the Earth really is flat? How far should they tow the line? And once they’re in on the secret can they ever get out?

Billy Carswell and Calum Pearce
Billy Carswell and Calum Pearce are a musical theatre writing duo formed in Manchester in 2018. Billy originally trained as an actor at Guildford School of Acting. He has since worked in immersive theatre, and is now the Foundation Course Supervisor at RADA. Calum Pearce is a songwriter from Fife, Scotland. His songwriting credits include Szou’s Thinkin Bout which received a string of plays on BBC Radio 1. Together, they aim to blend fast-paced musical comedy with thoughtful social commentary. They first started writing for Manchester University’s musical theatre society, where they created 'The Fear' along with collaborator Christopher Pope. This pop-rock musical about the leap from student to adulthood had a sell-out run in Manchester before heading to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, where it garnered five star reviews. 'Flat Earth: The Musical' is their second foray into musical theatre, with a dedicated social media community of over 15,000 followers eagerly awaiting more.
